The PG Department of Social Work, in association with IQAC, organized a Panel Discussion on the occasion of World Population Day on 13 July 2026 at the Seminar Hall (Mini Auditorium) of Carmelgiri College, Adimali. The programme aimed to create awareness about population-related issues and encourage critical thinking among students regarding the impact of population trends on sustainable development, social justice, and national progress.
The programme commenced at 1:30 PM with a welcome address by the faculty coordinator, who highlighted the significance of World Population Day and the global theme, "Realizing the hopes and aspirations of young people today and for the future." The panel consisted of faculty members and student representatives who actively discussed contemporary population challenges and opportunities.
The discussion focused on four major themes:
